IOAI Hong Kong Selection Contest Semi-Final Results Announced
25 Students Advance to Final Selection Round for Hong Kong Representative Spot
The results of the Semi-Finals of the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) Hong Kong Selection Contest have officially been announced. This year's competition has seen record-breaking participation — over 1,200 students took part in promotional activities, and more than 800 students entered the preliminary round. Following multiple rounds of selection, 25 outstanding students have successfully advanced to the next stage: the Final Selection Round.
The Final Selection Round will be held on April 11, 2026 at Ying Wa College. The 25 finalists will undergo further rigorous assessment as they compete for the opportunity to represent Hong Kong in the international competition.
12 Students to Receive Training Qualification; Top 8 to Represent Hong Kong in Kazakhstan
From this selection round, the 12 highest-performing students will be granted training qualification provided by IOAI Hong Kong. Subsequently, the 8 most outstanding students among them will be officially selected to form the Hong Kong delegation and compete in the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) Global Finals held on August 2, 2026 in Kazakhstan.
The organizing committee noted that this year's record-high participation reflects the growing enthusiasm and potential of Hong Kong students in the field of artificial intelligence. They congratulated all advancing students and expressed their hope that those selected for training and the final team will continue to shine on the international stage and bring honor to Hong Kong.
Last year, IOAI (Hong Kong) and AiTLE collaborated to organize the "(IOAI) - 2025 Hong Kong Team Selection Competition." Numerous schools registered, and after several rounds of screening, eight students were selected to represent Hong Kong at the IOAI 2025 World Competition. These students were well-prepared and achieved excellent results (including one gold medal, one silver medal, two bronze medals, and three honorary nominations). This year, IOAI (Hong Kong) is collaborating again with AiTLE to organize the "(IOAI) - 2026 Hong Kong Team Selection Competition." The goal is to carefully select a Hong Kong team through training and competition, enabling them to excel in the International Olympiad of Artificial Intelligence (IOAI). Actively encourage and educate students to master AI knowledge and cultivate their ability to use and improve AI technology.
